The Responsibility Of All The Baptized
We as a faith
community are called to be the Christian Community today and
celebrate and invite others to come and journey with us. Our
RCIA process does not end with the Easter Vigil or celebration
of Pentecost but is an on-going journey as a community of
believers. It is our responsibility and gift as members of the
community to be open ready to reach out, invite and welcome
others to walk with us. The RCIA process is designed for adults
not yet baptized, persons who were baptized in another
denomination and wish to come into full communion with the
Catholic Church and for adults baptized as infants but have not
received the sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation. Our
process is a journey in faith together where we pray; ponder
God’s call to each one of us. Summer is a time when we often
meet with family and friends and it would be an opportunity to
invite that special person just waiting for that personal
invitation. It is helpful if I have an opportunity to meet with
those who are interested or might want more information about
the process. Please call me or give me the names or have the
person call me and I would be happy to meet with them. Remember
as baptized members, Jesus’ command: Go out to the whole world
and invite others to come and journey with us. Let us pray
together that we might follow the call of the Spirit in our
lives.
Please give me a call at 235-1812. God Bless you.

Do You Want to Become A Catholic?
R.C.I.A. - Rite
of Christian Initiation of Adults - is a process for those
adults interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith in
order to receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and
Eucharist.
This process is
for all men and women who are not baptized, or baptized in
another Christian church but in need of further instruction and
initiation, or those baptized in the Catholic church but needing
more instruction to complete the sacraments of Initiation.
Persons never baptized are referred to as Catechumens, while
those previously baptized are called Candidates.
Seven Reasons To Join R.C.I.A.
(Why
seven?
Seven
is
a
Holy
number
in
the
Old
Testament.)
1. You’re
marrying a Catholic. (Sharing and practicing your faith
together is a great foundation to marriage.)
2. You’re
already married to a Catholic and your kids are being raised
Catholic. (It’s natural to want to share in the sacramental
experiences of your loved one’s.)
3. You’re
children are being raised Catholic and you just want to learn
more about the tradition without actually becoming Catholic.
(Please join us but you might be surprised at what happens!)
4. You’ve lived
in a “Catholic World” all your life. (This program is for
people of all ages. Every year someone joins us whom everyone
in the Parish assumed was already Catholic!)
5. You don’t
know much about Catholicism but you have a friend or neighbor
who has inspired you to learn more. (Actions speak louder than
words.)
6. You’ve
suffered through a personal loss and are seeking to improve your
faith life. (“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be
comforted.”)
7. You don’t
know why, you just feel something calling you to church. (It’s
the Holy Spirit...listen to it.)
It is important
that I have time to meet the persons interested in the process
before we begin in September. If you have any questions please
give me a call at 235-1812 or submit their names.
Thank you,
Sister Eileen
