HISTORY

69th Anniversary Of Our Parish

Wednesday, January 21, 2010 marks our 69th Anniversary as a parish community.  It has been a remarkable journey.  From our first Mass at the Della Theatre on Welch Boulevard to our present gathering in our Church on Chevrolet Ave., we have seen much change and growth over these 69 years.

But our story is not told in statistics or the historical dates of our buildings or our parish programs.  Our story is told in the faith of the families who have made St. John Vianney truly a parish community.  Faith has always been at the heart of our parish.  Faith lived and celebrated in our church, our families, and our neighborhood.  Our faith has rallied us in moments of sorrow, celebrations, and joy.  We have supported and reached out to each other and to our greater community during these 69 years of faith, and God has indeed blessed us in abundance and continues to do so each day.

On this 69th Anniversary we must pledge ourselves to the work of tomorrow.  We must be an ever growing community of faith filled with the joy of our yesterday and now reaching out to others in need and lifting our hearts in praise of our all powerful God.
