MINISTRIES

Prayer Chain Ministry
The prayer
chain ministry is now ready to receive prayer requests from
parish members, and to support and hold you in special prayer
during times of emotional, physical or spiritual need. We have
two teams of people who have volunteered to spend time daily
praying for these special needs. We will pray for a period of
two weeks for each request, and longer if the need continues.
Requests should be made to either the church office (235-1812),
Pat Slackta (635-3716) or Joyce Gardner-Lawton (265-1137).
Please pray for us as we initiate this ministry. |

Guardian Angel Ministry
Our St. John
Vianney Guardian Angel Ministry was established for the purpose
of providing transportation primarily to Mass, doctors’ offices,
and some local errands for those parishioners who cannot provide
for themselves. With the consolidation of the parishes, we have
an expanded opportunity to serve our parish members. If you are
willing to spend time, are able to drive and are willing to make
a commitment to this program, we welcome you to our first
meeting of the season on September 4, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the
Community Room. At the same time, if you need help in getting
to Mass, contact the parish office two or three days prior to
the need and we will do our best to fill your request. All
calls are held in complete confidence. |

Cell Phones & Eye glasses
Your Christian
Service Commission still maintains a basket in the foyer of the
church, for the collection of used, and no longer needed eye
glasses and cell phones. This is an ongoing project of this
commission. For 2008, we have had 80 cell phones and 84 pair of
eye glasses donated so far. With the start of the new school
year, and the holidays are not far off, many children and adults
will be getting new glasses and phones. We will be glad to take
your used items and have them recycled and put to use for people
less fortunate. Thank you! |

Martha's Ministry
Martha Ministry volunteers would like to ease the transition of
bringing a new baby home by providing meals to mothers of
newborn babies. If you, your wife, or a parishioner you know
are pregnant and due to deliver within a month, please call Lisa
Burgess at 810-659-4027 or the church office at 235-1812. We
have enjoyed bringing meals, visiting new moms, and seeing the
new baby, so don’t be shy about calling.
